BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A new memorial at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park was set in place Tuesday morning.
"The Battle Within Memorial" is a lifesize silhouette of a soldier carrying two figures. The over 8,000-pound steel monument honors the 20+ veterans who die each day due to PTSD.
It was completed two months from the date crews broke ground on the memorial.
The monument will be formally unveiled on Memorial Day. After that, the ongoing mission of The Battle Within Foundation will be to fund and connect veterans with the care they richly deserve.
