Buffalo's busiest carrier is looking to give its sales a lift by offering fares starting as low as $39 one way.

Southwest Airlines has rolled out a three-day sale in an attempt to fill empty seats during the pandemic.

Here's what you need to know to take advantage of the lower prices:

  • Travel in the Continental U.S. must take place between September 8, 2020 and February 10, 2021.
  • Travel from the Continental U.S. to/from Hawaii must take place from November 1, 2020 and April 8, 2021.
  • Travel to San Juna, Puerto Rico is valid September 8, 2020 through December 3, 2020 and January 11 through March 4, 2021.
  • International travel is valid from September 8 through December 9, 2020 and January 11 through March 4, 2021.

Tickets must be purchased by Thursday at midnight.

The airline industry is still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the tracking site Airlines For America, passenger traffic remains down nearly 70 percent.

New York State currently has a travel advisory requiring a 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving from 28 states and three U.S. territories, including Florida, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. See the full list here.
