BATAVIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Police Chief at Buffalo State College helped to rescue a dog that ran away after a crash in Genesee County.

Buff State says Chief Peter Carey was stuck in traffic that resulted from a tractor-trailer rollover crash. Two dogs were in the truck. One was with his owners, but the other ran away. Two people inside the truck were transported to ECMC.

Chief Carey found the dog about a mile from the scene. Chief Carey was able to retrieve the frightened pup and bring him to Genesee County Animal Control until he can be returned to his owners.
