OLEAN, N.Y. (WKBW) — The City of Olean Police have a message for its residents… Pick up after your pooch!
Police issued a message on their Facebook page reminding the public to pick up after their dogs do their business or face a fine.
City Ordinance 5-30 A6 FAILURE TO REMOVE DOG FECAL MATTER states the following: It shall be unlawful for any owner of any dog in the City of Olean to permit or allow such dog to create a nuisance by defecating on property other than the owners and failing to immediately remove and properly dispose of any fecal matter. A conviction of a violation of this article shall be deemed an offense and punishable by a fine not exceeding $25 for the first offense, and $100 for the second offense and $250 for each offense thereafter.
