BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Niagara Falls man has pleaded guilty to second degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman inside the Sears store at the McKinley Mall in September of 2019.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said Tuesday 38-year-old Mallicia U. Tipps was stabbed and killed by her ex-boyfriend 44-year-old Keith Sparks inside Sears. Sparks was taken into custody later that day after an hours-long stand-off in Niagara Falls.

Sparks was charged with second degree murder in November of 2019 and was due in court Tuesday for a pre-trial conference, Flynn said that is when Sparks pleaded guilty to the charge.
