NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — More animals have been rescued from the North Tonawanda home where a severely malnourished dog was discovered earlier this month.
On May 5th, North Tonawanda Police seized a dog named Sam Sam from a home following a complaint of animal cruelty. The dog had to be hospitalized and is still being cared for by a veterinarian. Sam Sam's owners, Joseph Barwick and Dorthy Adama are facing animal cruelty charges.
In the meantime, local animal rescue group Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue reported that other animals, including cats, were still in the home. The group posted on its Facebook page over the weekend that a person who is experienced with fostering animals is now caring for the cats in the home. The cats will be taken care of until they're well enough to be adopted.
If you'd like to help the animals that were taken from the home, you can drop off donations and supplies at the Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue Amherst Adoption Center at 775 Niagara Falls Boulevard.
