BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) — The popular theatre group O'Connell and Company has been proving the old adage that "the show must go on". Since COVID shut down their theatre last year, they have been presenting virtual productions.
Founder Mary Kate O'Connell says "Interaction with an audience is something that all of us in theatre desperately miss." adding " "During rough times actors become creative which is awesome."
"Memories and Martinis" is the company's third virtual offering. The show is a mix of music and stories starring Mary Kate and featuring Chuck Basil.
The performance was recorded live at the Colored Musicians Club. Mary Kate says "I was centering on places that were iconic in Buffalo and that people can go to."
You can access "Memories and Martinis" by going to the O'Connell and Company website. The show runs through February 28Th and the cost is $15 per household.
Mary Kate says that she is looking forward to the day when audiences will be back in theatre but until then "We want our audience to know that we think they are important and we are here for them."
