Lockport man arrested in connection to deadly Pendleton crash

TOWN OF PENDLETON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says a Lockport man has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter in connection to a deadly crash in the Town of Pendleton in November.

According to the sheriff's office, 29-year-old Joshua Kalenda was arraigned and charged with vehicular manslaughter in the 2nd degree, two counts of driving while ability impaired by a drug, one count of driving while ability impaired by combined influence of drugs and one count of failure to keep right as a traffic infraction.

Kalenda was arrested after an investigation into a deadly crash that happened on Campbell Boulevard in the Town of Pendleton on November 20, 2020. Officials say 43-year-old Melissa Maras, of Williamsville, was killed in the crash.

Kalenda is due back in court at a later date.
