Jamestown man charged in 2017 homicide

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Jamestown Police have arrested a man they believe stabbed another man to death in November 2017.

20-year-old Tavion Turner has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree.

Police say Turner and 22-year-old Dyllan Ownbey were walking on Willard Street during the evening of November 28, 2017 when they got into a fight. Police say Turner then stabbed Ownbey and ran away. It happened on the 300 block of Willard Street near Peterson Street. Police found Ownbey laying on the sidewalk. He was later pronounced dead at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital.

Turner was arraigned in Chautauqua County Court and is being held on $1 million cash/ $2 million property bond.
