BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Day six of deliberations in the case against Buffalo Police Officer Corey Krug came to an end without a verdict. Krug is charged with police brutality in multiple incidents, including one caught on camera by 7 Eyewitness News on Thanksgiving Eve, 2014.
During Friday's deliberation, the judge presiding over the case brought up the video released by 7 Eyewitness News and the Buffalo News that showed a jail attendant using excessive force on a suspect. The judge asked all of the 12 jurors if that video would interfere with their judgment in the Krug case. Only four of the jurors had seen the video, and had to verbally acknowledge to the judge that they would treat that as a separate incident, irrelevant to the case they are presiding over.
Jurors are expected back on Monday, February 25th at 9am. They are expected to hear back testimony for the seventh day.
Officer Krug faces as much as 10 years in prison if convicted.
