GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced a Grand Island man has been indicted for allegedly killing a dog in March.

Officials say 42-year-old Brian Cline allegedly hit and kicked a toy poodle on Baseline Road in Grand Island the night of March 12, 2020. The owner of the dog found the dog dead in its crate the next day.

7 Eyewitness News spoke to the dog owner in March who said she checked her surveillance camera after finding the dog dead and called the Sheriff's Office after seeing the video that allegedly shows Cline attacking the animal.

The district attorney's office says Cline was charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals and faces a maximum of two years in jail.

He is schedule to return to court December 10 and remains released on his own recognizance.
