BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A former line cook at a Buffalo restaurant has admitted to stabbing the owner with a knife during an argument in December.
According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old John Luper III, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to third-degree assault.
Prosecutors say Luper was working in the kitchen of Cole’s on Elmwood Avenue when he engaged in an argument with owner, Mike Shatzel, and stabbed him once in the torso.
Shatzel was taken to the hospital to be treated and has since recovered.
Luper has been sentenced to a conditional discharge and was ordered to stay away from Shatzel and his places of business.
