BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cripple the economy and impact jobs, FeedMore WNY is facing an "urgent need" for volunteers to deliver meals.

Since March, the nonprofit organization has on-boarded nearly 3,200 clients to its Meals on Wheels program. On an average week in 2020, between 21,000-31,000 meals are delivered across Western New York.

"Unfortunately some of the wonderful volunteers who helped us out in the beginning days of COVID have had to return to work and school," said Catherine Shick, FeedMore WNY Communications Director. "We are looking for more volunteers to help us make those deliveries in order to feed our homebound neighbors."

FeedMore WNY estimates that one in six Western New Yorkers may be at risk of hunger in 2020 due to the pandemic.

If you would like to contribute but cannot physically volunteer, WKBW has teamed up with FeedMore WNY and RetroBuffalo to sell Buffalo Strong t-shirts and hoodies. Proceeds from each sale go directly to FeedMore WNY.
