Father and son arrested for animal cruelty; 140 animals seized

WIRT, N.Y. (WKBW) — A father and son are facing a list of animal cruelty charges after investigators found the bodies of 9 dead animals on their farm properties in Wirt.

New York State Police, along with Allegany County SPCA Investigators, looked into a complaint of deceased, malnourished, and neglected animals at three farm properties on State Route 275 and County Road 8.

140 various animals were seized by the SPCA and remain in their care.

On Wednesday, Both Daniel D. Hint, 55, and Joshua D. Hint, 36, both of Wirt, were charged with failure to provide sustenance. Daniel Hint was also charged with neglect of an impounded animal, improper disposal of dead animals, and failure to provide shelter for dogs left outdoors.
