BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Rochester-area man has been arrested for hitting an Erie County Sheriff's deputy following a Bills game.

The incident happened on November 25. The sheriff's office said the deputy was working his traffic post at Big Tree Road and Route 219 when he was struck by a truck which continued onto Route 219 northbound.

The deputy was transported to Erie County Medical Center, treated for a serious arm injury and released later that night.

On Thursday December 20, Lee Gill Jr., 35, of Hamlin turned himself in to deputies at Orchard Park court. He was charged with a misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and a vehicle and traffic law violation for failing to obey a police officer.

Gill Jr. will be due back in court at a later date.
