TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW-TV) — It began as a modest production for O'Connell & Company. It's creator Mary Kate O'Connell says "we started as a two week show to celebrate Women's History Month and it never stopped."
The award winning "Diva By Diva" celebrates it's twentieth anniversary this year. It's the area's longest running production.The celebration of women is a fast paced collection of songs, stories and humor.
Mary Kate says that over the years the ever changing show and cast has raised big money for women and children's charities. She says "What we have done is assemble a group of women who define the 'Diva' as someone who cares about herself, her family and her community and get's the job done."
All local productions are on hold now because of the pandemic. But Mary Kate O'Connell is sure that someday soon theatre patrons will be ready to return to the O'Connell & Company's beautiful new home at the Kent-Ton Elmwood Commons.
