Fireworks were put on by Skylighters Fireworks of Orchard Park for the first time this year. The company also runs the ball drop in Downtown Buffalo. 7 Eyewitness News reached out to the company for information on what happened.
"Some of the product got damp throughout the set-up process," said Matt Shaw, owner of Skylighters.
When fireworks get wet, it impacts the burn time, making the firework go up and come straight back down, per Shaw.
No one was injured and no property was damaged, according to the Bradford Fire Chief. The city will be exploring new options.
"I think we need to look into probably either laser light shows or doing fireworks by Oak Hill Cemetery," said Teri Cannon, City Administrator.
