ORCHARD PARK, NY (WKBW-TV) — The Banana Pepper Bisque became so popular at the Byrd House in Orchard Park, that it was moved from the occasional appearance to a prominent spot on the menu.
Co-owner Brendan Biggane says that there's just one catch "The Hungarian Banana Pepper is a fickle gal."
Brendan says that all banana peppers are not created equal, adding "sometimes they are so hot that they can make your hair fall out and sometimes they are just a little milder."
The popular dish is the creation of a former chef. "Her name was Melissa but her nickname was "the soup whisperer".
The Banana Pepper Bisque is just one of the dozens of homemade items on the menu which includes the house favorite The Pot Roast Sandwich.
