BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A member of the Buffalo Zoo's lion pride has headed west.

Tobias, a two-year-old African lion, has been moved to the Denver Zoo, where he will join three female lions as part of a breeding program.

The hope is that Tobias will mate with three-year-old Kamara or six-year-old Neliah.

Tobias became the first lion cub born at the Buffalo Zoo in 25 years when he arrived in 2016. His father, Tiberius, and mother, Lelie, remain at the Buffalo Zoo along with lions Lusaka, Asha, Amirah, Roary, Shona and Acacia.
