WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WKBW) — On Saturday, firefighters from five Wheatfield fire companies are working together to create a one-of-a-kind parade for families.

As their communities observe social distancing guidelines and follow the state's request to stay at home, firefighters will put on a "social distance parade." The parade will start at the old Summit Park Mall and travel through 53 roadways throughout the Town of Wheatfield.

The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, and include fire trucks from the following companies:

  • Frontier Volunteer Fire Company
  • Bergholz Volunteer Fire Department
  • St. Johnsburg Fire Company
  • Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company
  • Adams Fire Company

Route information is available in aFacebook postfrom Adams Fire Company.

For families who do not live on the parade route, the fire companies suggest parking "road side in a safe area."
