BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Police Department is holding an exam in June to become an officer. Salaries for police officers in Buffalo start at around $46,000.
To take the written police exam, you must apply by May 22nd. The exam will be held Saturday, June 29th. There are some requirements to apply, including being a resident of the City of Buffalo, as well as being 19-years-old before the exam date. Applicants also must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency Diploma.
Buffalo Police officers make between $46,628 - $77,713. Reporting time pay, Night shift pay and a uniform allowance are available. The benefits include health, dental and optical coverage, vacation and sick pay, a retirement plan, and a continued education stipend.
