BUFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) — Their annual holiday concerts always sell out, but this year COVID has cramped their style. The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus is going to broadcast their popular version of the Messiah on WNED-TV.

BPC Music Director Adam Luebke says "The pandemic put the squeeze on local choirs and we found a way to persevere through the pandemic."

The hundred forty member chorus recorded their concert. It was photographed at several locations including the Ellicott Square building, Kleinhans Music Hall and St. Josephs Cathedral. Adam says "We wanted to showcase a lot of architectural gems."

Wearing masks and social distancing did present the singers with some challenges "It muffles the sound and restricts movement of your mouth" Adam points out.

The concert will air several times on WNED-TV with the first broadcast kicking off December 21st at 9pm. It will also be streamed, live on the WNED-TV website.
