Buffalo man charged with making false police call that led to officer-involved accident

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo man has been charged with making a false police call which led to an officer involved accident.

A source tells 7 Eyewitness News 59-year-old William Gray of Buffalo called police on Wednesday afternoon April 15 for a "person with a knife" call.

While responding to that call, a Buffalo Police Officer was involved in an accident at the intersection of Main and Benwood Avenue. Buffalo Police say five people were injured in the accident, including an officer and a 29-year-old woman.

Investigators say the female pedestrian is still in critical condition at ECMC.

Gray is charged with falsely reporting an incident in the 1st degree that led to serious physical injury-- a D felony.
