Buffalo man accused of killing cat indicted on animal cruelty charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo man accused of killing a cat by hanging it inside an apartment on Carolina Street was indicted Friday.

41-year-old Antonio Martin allegedly hung the family pet inside the west side of Buffalo apartment on September 7th, 2019, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

The DA's office also says Martin allegedly sent photos of the dead cat to two juveniles via text message.

Martin was indicted on the following charges: one count of aggravated cruelty to animals and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He faces a max of two years in jail and is due back in court February 19th, he was released on his own recognizance.
