BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Bills Center Mitch Morse is earning MVP status in the off-season by showing the people of Western New York they are always close to his heart.

Morse and his wife, Caitlin, have pledged to donate $100,000 to FeedMore WNY, the non-profit formed by the merger of the Food Bank of Western New York and Meals on Wheels.

"This community and this team gave me a chance to never have to worry about money ever again," Morse told 7 Eyewitness News. "They gave me the opportunity to provide for my daughter, my wife and my family."

The donation will go a long way to help families in need at a time when the coronavirus has turned many lives upside down.

"We know that this has been a real challenging and troubling time for our community and the light is coming from people like the Morse family," FeedMore WNY Communications Director Catherine Shick said.

"You take a step back and you realize this is an unprecedented time and who knows if we'll ever see anything like this in our lifetime again," Morse added. "If there is any time to step up I think now is definitely it."

FeedMore serves upwards of 130,000 people through 300 agencies and programs each month across Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.
