CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police have arrested a suspect that they say struck a driver on the I-90 and left the scene during a snowstorm back in February.

State Police say Niklaus Kristiansson sideswiped a truck during rush hour on February 13th. The victim attempted to stop a blue Ford Explorer. But according to police, Kristiansson began to pull away while the victim was standing in front of the Ford Explorer. The victim slid across the hood and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The 34-year-old was charged with assault and several vehicle and traffic violations. Kristiansson is due back in court in April.

The Cheektowaga resident had an active warrant for his arrest from the City of Buffalo. He was turned over to the Buffalo Police Department.
