A Western New York college football coach is one of the top ten highest paid state employees

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A new publication from an independent, non-partisan, non profit think tank found that one of New York's highest paid state employees is a college football coach in Western New York.

Data from Empire Center for Public Policy in Albany found that University at Buffalo football coach Lance Leipold was the sixth highest paid New York state employee for 2019.

According to SeeThroughNY, Leipold made $663,500 total in 2019, the highest among all coaches at public universities in the state of New York.

Dr. Gary Green, Clinical Associate Professor of Health Science at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse

Gov. Andrew Cuomo had a $20,000 increase in total pay from 2018, making $198,765.
