A piece of Buffalo history has died, but leaves behind legacy that's about more than just a meal

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — 7 Eyewitness News reflects today throughout our newscasts on legacy of Blondine Harvin, owner of Gigi's Restaurant, through stories from friends, family, and loved ones on the day of her funeral.

Her restaurant will re-open soon in the Northland Workforce Training Center, after it burned down 3 years ago in its old location.

In the first video above, hear from friends, family, and her pastor about how she impacted Western New York...and how some say she created her own ministry through operating Gigi's.

In the second video, we get the incredible story of how Gigi's came to be, and why many have known her by the wrong nickname for decades!
