Their bags are packed and they are ready for the big trip to Dayton, Ohio. At a recent practice it was plain to see that director Tom Roberts is in charge. He started this group a few years ago, but marching has been his life long love, saying "I've marched since I was twelve years old, I never stopped really."
The group is getting ready for the World Championship where they will compete with more than three hundred other groups. This Lancaster group will go against 67 teams in their class, and they are already ranked twelfth nationwide.
All of the members have to be proficient in handling the traditional saber, flag and rifle. While they make it look easy it's not. April Henry has been doing guard for eight years and says "I love performing, I just love being out on the floor with everybody."
Director Tom Roberts say his favorite part of mentoring is seeing what the young members take away from the experience including "being on a team, growing in strength and skills.
