Hats, gloves and winter coats. All winter essentials on a cold Buffalo day but often something our neighbors are without.

That's why True Bethel Pastor and Buffalo Common Council President Darius Pridgen and his group of volunteers are hitting the streets. They're driving around a brand new bright purple bus called The Shepherd's Closet handing out winter gear for those whole look cold.
"We'll actually be going out and riding in some of Buffalo's poorest neighborhoods and stopping when we see people who need coats. Whose coats might not be adequate. (Who need) gloves, hats, boots, whatever we have on the bus."
The bus doesn't have a set schedule but Pridgen says the worse the weather the greater the need.

7 Eyewitness News tagged along as the bus made its inaugural stops.
"All of the items have been donated from the community and from the people of True Bethel," Pridgen said.
Although the bus will certainly help Pridgen wants your help. He says if everyone keeps a few extra pairs of gloves and hats in their car to give to those in need we can solve a big problem in Western New York.
