Americans are expected to spend more money this holiday season than last year.
The National Retail Federation predicts the average American will spend about $940 holiday shopping this year, which is up about $130 compared to last year. That's the second-highest amount in the 13 years since the NRF has been tracking holiday spending.
Results are, however, broken down by cities. Wallethub.com compared the holiday budgets for 570 U.S. cities. Buffalo was ranked 510/570. People living in the Queen City are expected to spend about $400 this holiday season. If you want to see how other cities compared, click here.
