Tucked away on Clinton Street sits Shell Fab Custom Countertops and Casework. It's been there for the better part of 30 years thanks to husband and wife duo, Michelle and Marty Monaco.

“It's a lovely place to be. We're proud of our town,” said Michelle. “It's a great town. We grew up here. It's been good to us all these years,” added Marty.

Shell Fab fabricates and installs custom countertops. Marty founded the company in 1988. “He started out of his grandfather's garage on the corner of Stoney in Lackawanna in 750-square-feet of space.”

The business has only grown since then.

“My brother in law who has since passed away said to me work hard, be a family person, and give back to your community. Having our own business allows me to do all those things,” explained Michelle of their hard work.

Today, Shell Fab has close to 60 employees and has outgrown the current site. So, they're going to move to a 55,000-square-foot facility just down the street. That nearly doubles the space that they have right now.

Leaving West Seneca never crossed their mind.

“This is where we live, and we wanted to have our house and our business in the same community. We’re hoping to have a positive impact on this community as well.”

Shell Fab's hiring eight to 10 employees in the next year. For more information, click here.
