Mary Ann Hess started Niagara’s Honeymoon Sweets Chocolate in 2005 out of her basement after her grandson had been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.
“I needed to help my daughter pay some of the bills,” Hess explained.
The barber by trade knows her fair share of people across western New York. She credits great friendships with landing gigs to make chocolates for two presidential inauguration parties, the Emmys and the Academy Awards.
“When I do the big events like the Inauguration gala, the Emmys, I do huge edible photos that probably weigh five pounds each.”
