Hold onto your weather hats! It's going to be a windy, warm and stormy Friday evening! Let's break down your Friday.

Friday

Afternoon:

We go from breezy to windy a little before the lunch hour. Wind gusts will peak around 50 mph an hour this afternoon. That's more than enough to push your car a little to the left or right. In other words, have both hands on the wheel as you drive over the skyway.

We are still dry at this point in the game. But the storms will be knockin' on Western New York's doorstep early this evening.

Evening:

Expect a line of storms producing gusty winds, heavy downpours and lightning to move into the area between 5-9 p.m. Some of these storms will pack a good punch south of Buffalo.

The Storm Prediction Center out of Oklahoma has issued an enhanced risk of severe storms for all of Western New York. The main threat from these storms are wind gusts strong enough to knock down some trees and power lines in the area.

The good news is these storms will be fast movers. Once they're gone, they're gone.

Behind this line of showers and thunderstorms is some cool refreshing air. So while a majority of your Friday will be hot, humid, dry and windy, it may not be a bad idea to bring a hoodie with you if you're going to be out and about late this evening.
