Flooding has been a constant problem for some residents living along Lake Erie in the Town of Evans.

Friday, help was on the way. Crews started installing new drainage pipes near the 8500 block of Old Lakeshore Road where flooding has been especially bad.

There's been so many problems that our team has made the trip down Route 5 several times.

"I thank every single one of you guys' for coming down and covering this, because this has been a total nightmare," Lisa Naab, who had constant problems with flooding said.

"You know, I can handle a couple hours of being under water as long as it goes away quickly instead of taking days and weeks."

Naab says she was thrilled when she looked out the window and saw the workers. Over the years her home has suffered several thousand dollars in damage.

"The house used to be a cottage.  With all the water the foundation sunk so we put a $47,000 addition that is trashed."

Regardless of the past Naab says this is a step in the right direction, one that she would've liked to see happen a long time ago.
