Gosy office reopens, patients still want answers

It was the day patients of Dr. Eugene Gosy had been waiting for but just minutes after opening the patients we spoke with had more questions than answers.

"It seems like they couldn't even give me 10 seconds of time," Bill Graham said after trying to get an update on his medication. They told him "if you have an appointment we'll take you otherwise we don't have any answers right now."

Joe, another patient, says he was told only patients with an appointment would get to see a doctor or associate today.

"It's ridiculous. So I guess we're just going to have to suffer with the pains that we have cause nobody wants to take care of you now."

Jeff Priester, a father or three who has already had three different surgeries, had the same frustrations.

"I started going without my medication probably the last four or five days. A lot of people have a lot worse than I do  but it's horrible for everybody ."

While several patients were frustrated the majority we spoke with still support the Williamsville doctor following the federal indictment that claims Gosy over prescribed opiates to patients.

Kris Wicks brought signs Monday that said "Gosy saved me" to send a message to those who charged the doctor.

"We don't want to have to turn to heroin or suicide and that's our only other choice. I don't understand how Erie County or Bill Hochul can just throw 9,000-10,000 people on the street and we have nothing."

7 Eyewitness News reporter Ed Reilly is following this story and spent the day getting reaction from patients and the physicians who have stepped-up to help run Dr. Gosy's office.
