The Charter School For Applied Technologies got a jump start on the school year.
Mrs. Jung's a kindergarten teacher. That means that for her students, this is their first day of school ever. There are 27 students in the class, and just a few hours in they seemed to be getting the hang of it.
According to Mrs. Jung, there were a few tears when the kids were dropped off earlier in the day. She said, "There were a few kids that were crying and upset, and once their parents leave they are fine."
There's a lot to learn the first day and it's a long one. The kids started at 7:30am and go until 3pm. Some of the children admitted that they were tired. While "nap time" is a thing of days gone by, the kindergartners get a rest time right after lunch.
The first day of school for the first timers was "fabulous" and they get to do it all over again tomorrow.
