Firefighters in Hamburg were called to home on Hickox Road about 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Two people were awakened by smoke detectors and fire in a bedroom.
A man living inside the home tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher. It was no help. Firefighters say the fire spread from the bedroom to the attic.
It took about an hour before firefighters had the fire under control. It's unclear how the fire started.
No one was hurt. The two people inside are now staying with family.
