Buffalo police spent some time investigating an overnight incident, right near the Buffalo Science Museum.
Investigators had an area around Pershing Avenue cordoned off about 4:00 a.m. Wednesday where police say 39-year-old James Smith of Buffalo was shot and killed.
Two people were approached by officers and were seen hugging on the other side of the crime scene tape.
Buffalo police are investigating the fatal shooting.
