CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY (WKBW) — With 100% of precincts reporting, Paul “PJ” Wendel Jr. has won the race for Chautauqua County Executive.

The race pitted Democratic challenger Richard Morrisroe against the Republican incumbent Wendel Jr.

Wendel was sworn in as County Executive in January of this year and appointed to the position with approval from the county legislature.

He replaced former County Executive George Borrello after Borrello won a New York State Senate seat. Wendel has lived in Chautauqua County since 1977 and taught physical education at Falconer Central School for almost two decades.
