BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — The first day of early voting didn't go exactly as planned in some polling locations.

Hundreds of people lined up to vote in the southtowns at Hamburg Town Hall on South Park Avenue Saturday.

Election officials are happy with the turnout, but volunteers say crowd control is a big problem, both inside and outside many polling places.

Social distancing is a problem with the volume of voters, and people are getting into arguments over things like wearing a mask.

Mike Lips, a voter from Lake View said, "This has been a disaster because it has not been planned right here. There's 300 people and there's no place to go. It's impossible to social distance. Should have been better planning to spread us out here. This is incredible. If i don't get COVID today I'll be thanking God."

Some voters we spoke with say they've never seen turnout like this.
