Erie County Board of Elections processes more than 55,000 absentee ballots

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County Board of Elections processed more than 55,000 absentee ballots for the November 3 general election between Friday night and Monday morning.

As of Monday afternoon, 55,664 ballots had been mailed or prepared for mailing, according to the BOE.

Erie is one of two counties in New York in which voters can request an absentee ballot online.

Online applications must be received by October 27. The last day to request a ballot in person is November 2.

Polls for in-person voting will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m on Election Day.
