A brand new drug collection box will be installed in Gowanda, as the police department works to fight drug addiction.

According to a post on the Gowanda Police Department's Facebook page, they were awarded a grant from CVS/pharmacy to help fight drug addiction. With this new collection box, drugs can be dropped off with no questions asked. That includes controlled substances.

This new drug drop will be at Healthy Community Alliance, located at One School Street. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Gowanda was recently recognized by New York Times for its efforts fighting drug abuse.
