It's been around since 1951, but every once in a while it's nice to remember that a little more than two hours from Buffalo is a sparkling celebration of the art, history and science of glass. According to Eric Meek, manager of the hot glass programs "here at the museum you can see thirty-five centuries of glass, from ancient times all the way up to contemporary."

At the Corning Museum Of Glass there are glass blowing demonstrations all day, everyday. There's always something cooking in the Hot Shop Amphitheatre with live glass making demonstrations with staff as well as visiting artists. The new Contemporary Art & Design Wing is packed with colorful creations.

A new exhibit of Tiffany Mosaics will premiere May 20th. If you'd like to be an artist, then you can check out the Make Your Own Studio. Just pick a project and a qualified glass instructor will help you create a bead, ornament or flower.

Corning Museum of Glass is open daily 9-5. You can get more information at their website.
