Cheektowaga Police still looking for driver one year after fatal hit and run

Cheektowaga Police are still searching for the person responsible for hitting a man and leaving him to die on Genesee Street. 

On August 8th of 2017, 55 year-old Robert Prigl from Depew was walking from his family's home to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport when he was hit by a car. Prigl was hit just before 5 a.m. while crossing the street. He was headed back to Florida after spending time in Western New York caring for his elderly parents.

Cheektowaga Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect. The vehicle involved was going westbound on Genesee Street and is believed to be a lighter colored, older late 70's to early 80's, General Motors car. If you know someone that may have been involved in the crash or if there is a vehicle matching this description that has any front end damage, please call Cheektowaga Police at (716) 686-3580.
