Celery to retire from Buffalo Bisons

Sad news, Celery fans.  The popular vegetable will be retiring from the Bisons organization at the end of the 2017 season.

Celery has become a fan favorite over the years, despite the veggie's inability to ever place first in the Wing, Cheese, Celery races.

Celery released a statement Thursday saying in part, "I know a lot of you will be upset with this news, but sometimes you just get to a point where enough is enough, and for me having over 380 losses is that point."

The vegetable went on to thank the Bisons organization, 716 Food and Sport, and the fans for their support throughout the season.  He also said he plans to train hard in the final offseason with the hope of winning at least once before retiring.
