Celebrating Pet Day at The S.P.C.A.

Posted

April 11th is National Pet Day, but at the S.P.C.A. Serving Erie County, everyday is pet day. People usually come here to connect with a new best friend. Each year the S.P.C.A. puts together thousands of people and pets.

Gina Browning the Director of Public Relations says: "It's like little miracles happening every day. We are so lucky to see almost seven thousand of these little miracles happening everyday. Every day we are seeing peoples lives change not just the animals."

It's also volunteer week and they are celebrating the more than 1400 volunteers that put in time at the S.P.C.A.  Red Krause has been a volunteer here for several years and works with the dogs. He says when it comes to finding a new four legged companion, it's less about "breed" and more about "love". Red says: "Just any kind of dog for loving, depends on their family situation, big dog, little dog, anything in between, young or old."
