A Buffalo teenager was found guilty of 17 of the 19 counts against him, including murder and attempted murder.

19-year-old Diamond Lewis was before a judge Friday to hear the verdict on those charges and a slew of others.

Previous story:

Prosecutors say Lewis shot eight people over two years, killing two of them and permanently paralyzing another.  He had previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, six counts of attempted murder, six counts of assault and five counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

The court room was packed with people and filled with extra security as Judge Kenneth Case made his ruling.  Reporter Thuy Lan Nguyen was in the courtroom and said there was an audible gasp as the judge read the first guilty verdict.

Acting Erie County District Attorney said today was a success in ending Lewis's "reign of terror". Buffalo Police and prosecutors say these shooting events were likely gang related.

Lewis faces 50 years to life in prison when he's sentenced in December.
