The Executive Director of Financial Administration for the Buffalo Diocese will be resigning in early 2019.
In February, Steven Timmel will exit his position after 3 decades working for the Catholic Church.
"After 31 years of service to the Catholic Church in Western New York, I look forward to new professional challenges, effective Feb. 1, 2019. I am grateful to the staff of the Diocese of Buffalo, past and present, for their dedication in support of the mission of the Diocese.”, said Timmel in a statement released via Twitter.
The departure comes while the Diocese has begun to make financial settlement offers to victims of sexual abuse by clergy in the Diocese of Buffalo.
