BUFFALO-NIAGARA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT — Passengers at Buffalo-Niagara Airport may face significant delays Monday after an issue was reported at the fuel farm's circuit system, prompting impacts on departing flights, according to a Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) official.
The NFTA official clarified details regarding the earlier Federal Aviation Administration Notice to Airmen alert about a possible fuel shortage at the Buffalo-Niagara Airport.
"At no time did the Buffalo Niagara International Airport experience a fuel shortage. Crews are working diligently to fix the issue, and passengers are advised to check with their airline for specific flight information," the NFTA official told WKBW.
Emergency repairs are currently underway on the fuel farm's circuit system. This issue is causing some delays with departing flights needing to make technical stops to refuel — some flights are being diverted as a result.
